FAQ

Visa translation questions

Do I need certified translation for my visa? +
Yes. USCIS, US consulates and most embassies require all Spanish-language documents to come with a certified translation by a qualified translator. A simple uncertified translation may be rejected.
What if I am missing a document? +
We notify you before delivery. If during the process we identify something missing to complete your procedure, we let you know so you can obtain it or so we can translate it as well.
How much does the complete package cost? +
It depends on the total number of pages. A typical work visa package (10-20 documents) is quoted as a set — always more convenient than paying individually. We give you a fixed price when quoting.
Is the translation accepted by USCIS? +
Yes. We coordinate with sworn translators authorized by the State of Jalisco Council of the Judiciary and the Supreme Court of Justice. Their translations are accepted by USCIS, US consulates and embassies.
How long does the package take? +
5-10 document packages: 3-4 business days. 10-20 document packages: 5-7 days. For urgent procedures, we check express service availability.
Can I add documents later? +
Yes. If your case progresses and the consulate requests additional documents, we add them without issue. We maintain consistent format and terminology with the original package.

Translations USCIS and consulates accept

Not all translators are accepted by USCIS. The translation must be accompanied by a certification stating that the translator is competent in both languages and that the translation is complete and accurate.

At LINGUAS we coordinate with sworn translators certified by the State of Jalisco Council of the Judiciary and the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Jalisco, whose certification meets the requirements of USCIS, US consulates and other immigration authorities.
